Recollections of my trip back home
"Man, this looks like Mustang" my friend muttered our plane landed at TIA (don't remember what it's called now!) around 9:40 pm in Kathmandu. Not that either of us had ever been to Mustang, but I immediately got what he was trying to say. As we landed we could hardly see any lights (probably because of the load shedding), and the area alongside the landing strip looked very dry and gray. With nothing green anywhere in sight, anybody would feel that it was mustang. Having been away for four years, I was nervous and not quite sure what to expect. Throughout the flight I had wondered, if at all, my country had changed or if I had changed. I was soon about to find out.
